The Requirement of Pastor Elders to Be Sober-Bent

Under this banner of the humbled man before his god, comes the requirement that pastor elders be able to teach and sober minded. He may aspire to pastor, but he is not yet called to pastor until some real church appoints him. Such humbled men keep their heads sober minded in conflicting and trying times. And such humble men, when matched with teaching ability, that is able to teach, are a powerful combination in the leading and feeding of the flock.
