Cable Is the Internet of the Time
In 1978, the Rasmysons and Egan start a new cable network called ESP. It's going to be an entertainment and sports programming company. By this time, less than 20% of U.S. households have cable. Cable really got started as a delivery mechanism for houses in rural parts of the U.S., where terrestrial broadcast signals didn't reach.
