The Impact of Francis Glesner Lee on the Criminal Justice System
Francis Glesner Lee was the first female police captain in the United States. She is responsible for many of the best practices still used to process crime scenes today. Her fight to dismantle the coroner system also has clear results. A version of Francis's original Harvard training seminar still lives on to this day at Baltimore's office of the chief medical examiner.
