The Sweet Spot Between Repression and Acting Out

I think there is a psychologically healthy way to be emotional and to be in accord with what the Buddhist teachings are teaching. Almost everybody writing in psychology today will or most of the people I like anyway will talk about this kind of sweet spot between repression and acting out and or suppression. Even in the Asian tradition when they're talking about anger are they talking about harmfulness per se? They certainly don't want to support harmful activity, so it's very comfortable for me now that I've learned how to deal with my own emotions.
