Lennin announced the beginning of a new era for russia and ended by calling out, long live the world socialist revolution. The bolshevik coup on behalf of the soviet was proclaimed, but it was not achieved, not by a long shot. To the credit of the remaining ministers in the winter palace, they refused to just surrender. By the end there were maybe 300 armed guards left inside.
