The Importance of Filmmaking
Robert Duvall was actually a surfer as well. When they shot that scene, there was some surfing. They left their surfboards there. And the story is the kids who actually lived there picked up the surfboards in the Philippines and started to learn how to surf because they left the surf boards behind. That's a great little side effect. I feel like this movie made its imprint on where it shot.
