The Public Health Benefits of Roman Baths

Bathing's a really important part of roman culture. It's associated with health for them, and it's perhaps more healthy than in societies where there's no bathing. But i think perhaps the public health benefits of roman baths has been overstated. Their public baths, the waters not chlorinated. We're not sure how often the water was changed. And because baths are associated wth health, when you are unwell, you go to the bath to have either a hot bath or a cold bath. So romans believed that baths were healthy and part of the health treatment.
