Aetius and Attila vs. The Romans

Aetius and the romans backed clodio's younger son to replace him. Attila, on the other hand, was hoping to peel franks away from roman support. Etius wanted his new adopted son in power to insure that the franks remained staunch roman allies. Neither aetius nor attila would back down. And so discontent amongst the armed forces of the west so they are unable to form a coalition against the advancing huns. In early four 51, the huns began to advance.
