The Importance of Nerve Study in Carpal Tunnel Release
I completely agree and actually in patients who have had you know persistent symptoms or a quote failed Carpal Tunnel release, I'll get the ultrasound for this exact reason. The ultrasound does provide information that a nerve study cannot. We still need those studies that look at outcomes after primary or revision Carpal Tunnel and preoperative diagnostic tools. Those are harder because everyone responds differently but that's the goal that we need to really change practice.
