March and Andrea meet for the first time at an adventure retreat centre in Vancouver. March tells her about his retirement plan to run the camp ground and help his stepmum. He says a stepma martha is the only family he has, although his mentor cal and his long time best friend mike martin are his chosen family. After that first date, andrea ends of cracking two ribs while working her shift at the fire house.
