There's a sense in which the prose itself is sed of sexually ecstatic. I rememberin when septimus is in the park, ander he e's having this apocalyptic vision of when dogs will become men,. while a sky terrier is busy making love to his uncle. And i think this thing of putting the emphasis on what as might have been thought of as very unremarkable and not worth writing a novel about, has an enormous effect on other writers after her. At that time, think it's very, very revolutionar.
