The Pitfalls of Advocates for Survivors
To advocate is the root word of that is, I think it's ad bokari from Latin or Old French. Advocacy means helping somebody else to find their voice, not speaking for them. And lastly, wherever you see tools of oppression being used, manipulation, pain-calling, deceit and proclamations, in my opinion, if I hear that one more time, I don't care about your opinion. I care about yours. Just give me the information and I will think it through myself."
