The Importance of Key Transparency in WhatsApp
We're almost certain that there's going to be improvements to it, right? Like this is kind of our first attempt. And we just did an episode on messaging layer security. Every client, every device, every user has a public key. They rotate, you can do stuff with the continuous key agreement. But having transparency is just completely out of scope for them and all a new end-to-end messaging like IETF standard. If this solution at scale seems to work for anyone trying to deploy that, all the better for users.
