Scheiler asked how to handle a situation when your child throws a tantrum at a public place, especially in the restaurant. When they're having a tantrum, they've flipped their lid, as dance eagle says, where you can't access frontal cortex, and so you're so emotional. It's a role then to first help them calm down, and then once ther pre frontal cortex is available, you might be able to explain why it didn't go the way they did.
