The Russian State in a Crisis Is Quite Dysfunctional
These are largely regular Russian military, mainly airborne forces and special forces. They probably decided they weren't up for the fight at that point. It's almost inconceivable that Wagner will now have any meaningful impact on the war. The Rump Wagner is going to be much depleted from what it was. And we've probably seen the last of them in any meaningful capacity on the front lines.
