The capacity for conceptual thought of human beings radically distinguishes them from other animals. This capacity is at the root of most of the other distinguishing features of human beings, he says. "I have a responsibility to do something with my life to respond in some way to genuine goods" He adds that we can reflect this on ourselves without what other philosophers have thought and theory already.
