Many workers hoped they could attain was put off until after the war was won. And so not surprisingly, once the war did end, it tou e off a massive new reckoning between capital and labor. A lot of the developments of the late forties in the aftermath of the war, will sound very familiar. The idea that workers should have steady, dependable work, seniority protections, decent pay, pension provided by the company and so forth.
