The Ban on Gender-Firming Care for Trans Youth Was Struck Down in Arkansas
It's not clear if the sounds came from the sub itself. Officials themselves noted that there's a lot of metal and other debris scattered across the area of the infamous shipwreck. Submarine crews are trained to bang on the hull of their vessel if communications systems go down, because sonar can pick up on the sound as it travels through water. Meanwhile, the company behind the sub is coming under intense scrutiny about the safety of its underwater craft. In a 2018 lawsuit, the company's former director of Marine Operations flagged several potential issues with the sub's design. Not great, but we are very much keeping our fingers crossed for the safe return of these people. This is really scary.
