Is There a Disturbing of the Genital Drive in Mental Illnesses?
Freud: In cases of mental illness, no disturbance of the genital drive can be noted other than those found in healthy persons, entire races and social classes. Dementially ill merely presents such an aberration in an intensified form or what is particularly significant that it takes the place of normal sexual gratification. So I think Freud's kind of saying don't kink shame and don't deduce from a kink or a fetish or a perversion or a proclivity to some sort of mental illness.
