Buddhist Authenticity Through Volunteer Tourism
You argue that in many cases, teaching and interacting with the Buddhist monks produces a transformative experience. Can you explain what you mean by that? I go through three different stages or ideas that volunteer tourists have. And so the first is that this experience when they're in the temple is about difference. But then at the same time, when they go deeper into beyond just the differences and they see that the monks are not exactly what they expected.
