Socrates bliss was thomas man's ideal for his own part. In the west, in general, the mental slant turned criticism onto nature. The mind that does take nature apart, but the mind that celebrates it. And so when schopenhauer brings the oriental into occidental, he brings that explication attitude rather than criticism. Out of destruction comes creation.
