What Is Considered a Failure?

Tim wants us to actually take things we usually define in terms of success and failure and re frame them entirely as experiments. You know, as necessary, if sometimes painful, little successes in their own right. Tim: How do you think the way we talk about failure culturally has changed? I was only struck by reading reports of class rooms in in japan or carea. These are cultures that are perceived as being very ashamed of failure and very reluctant to fail. And yet, math's class in japan, i'm told, kid will be put at the ackboard and will just be asked to solve a problem. That's es what learning maths looks like.
