The Indus Delta Is Dying a Slow Death
The river Indus is the backbone of Pakistan's agriculture. It originates high in the Himalayas on the Tibetan plateau, and then flows south about 3,000 kilometers before reaching the Arabian Sea. The water has been shrinking because of irrigation projects, dams that have been built upstream. And as a result, the Indus delta is dying a slow death.
