The Law of Retaliation
If a master puts out the eye of a slave, then his eye shall be put out. If there is serious injury, you are to take life for life,. Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise. Following on that, so that's what we call the law of retaliation or lexitaleonus.
