In Burgess Spies, Tom Hanks plays the KGB spy Samwise. He was a pioneer in trying to get doctors to wash their hands after doing autopsies and then delivering babies. Doctors didn't believe it. They thought it was crazy. It's one of these really famous case studies in how difficult it is to change scientific paradigms.
