Do We Have to Use Them 1000 Years Ago?

I am not a gramarian, like Nazi saying you have to use it. This is the way it's the only way. Basically, it's all good as long as you are clear and unambiguous. I also do think that, you know, while rules are ultimately arbitrary, some things are done for convention, but the convention minimizes misunderstanding.
