i think driver training and stricter regulations on who gets to drive would help. I have kind of a pet theory about thisand it's not one that, you know, have really any excientivic data to support but it feels right to me. My pet theory is that people can't psychologically handle really acknowledging day and day out, that this thing that they have no choice about is as dangerous as it is. We don't take it seriously as a psychological defense mechanism because we cannot hold up to the strain in thinking about the risk and danger that we're participating in every day.
