Would we have had that super level identity in antiquity? And that's something we don't really know. We do not know what the Phoenicians called themselves and how they identified themselves. It's one of the tricky things about identity as a topic is that we can talk about it in terms of these intentional actions and the conscious construction of identity. But identity is often unconscious as well, right?
