The cholesterol argument initially primarily came out of the Framingham study. The American Heart Association said that if we just lower our cholesterol intake, we would eradicate heart disease. In 2000 Americans actually did that they drop their egg intake and milk intake by almost 35%. And what we got was no change in heart disease and epidemics of obesity and diabetes. It took until 2015 for the US dietary guidelines to eliminate it.
