The Advantages and Disadvantages of AI
The field of AI has certainly been democratized in that when I was in that field as a graduate student, there were maybe 2000 PhDs in neural networks published in a given year. There's still a fairly concentrated ability to amass the data, amass the compute power, and to treat it responsibly. But what it does promise is that over the next five, 10 years, we should see an acceleration of these core capabilities to a broader range of industries.
