How to Communicate Effectively With Diverse Stakeholders

As a structural engineer, how do you balance the technical side of your work with soft skills that are required to effectively communicate? As I said, simplicity is a key. You need to understand what your audience care about and then how this will impact them. Don't take it personally and emotionally, don't get emotional. Maintain respect and try to make the other person to understand that you have heard them. And now what you're going to do is try to find a solution that works for everyone at some level.
