CS Lewis believes that imagination is the organ of meaning. He says it can be used for truth or lies, as in the case of Paul Beinzagold's Narnia books. But he also says imagination meaning is the source of either truth or falsehood. Imagination is where we create meanings. If I say the word cow, you're capable of attaching that word to an animal that we get milk from. That is an act of imagination.
