Isaac Was Chosen Unilaterally?
In verse 21, it says, tell me you who want to be under the law, do you listen to the law? This is allegorically speaking, or figuratively speaking, sometime. For these women are two covenants, one proceeding from mount sinai, bearing children who are the slaves. So even on your perspective, would you say that isaac was chosen unilaterally before he was born? I don't have a problem saying that ishmael was chosen to be the seed through which the promise would come.
