Donet is a community of dotnet people who don't like taking dependency ons on third party libraries, especially as part of cor dependencies. They are using open telematry directly in a lot of their libraries. The go community has welcomed this with open arms. Whether you should use tracers inside of your application or whether you should use activity, is a personal choice thing. For me it could make sense to just use the open telematory shimmer so that you jump between them going from tracedot to trace dot and back again.
