Official records list his birth date as june seventh, but some say he could have even been born several years before that. The family was largely illiterate, and keeping records like that just wasn't something that was done at the time. To the bedouins, documenting births, marriages and deaths has never really mattered. In the bedouin world, all that really counts is the daily life of the tribe.
