i was in my thirties before i found the seeds to chickory am tomatoes. Suddenly, you realized that this was a staple in southern europe. This was something that people grew outdoors and hve had incredible intensity of taste. A tomato you either ate raw in a salad or in a sam wich is not utterly delicious. We now take corgettes for granted. When i was growing up, they did exist, and people did eat them. But you ate marrow and and you had stuffed marrow ar with white sauce - it was a great big thing. And also, i mean, we're on tomatoes when it could be other things like cogettes. They are fantastic.
