Are We Building a Throwaway Society?

There is a sense that when you have something that is durable, that comes through time, that is a tangible link to people who came before you. If everything we built ended here, it all went to the dump and nothing carried on to the next generation or the one after that, we've never extended our hand to them. That is a danger of living in a throwaway society. Pi was just looking ahead and saying, oh, wow, we're moving towards being athrowaway society with single use cups and plastic bags. Those were around the corner.
