For every bad or wrong hire at Zappos it costs the company 150 to 300 percent of that person's salary. So basically front loading the effort towards making sure you get the right person in and making sure these people are cultural fit. And that means aligned with the purpose, aligned with the core values that they actually have personal investment in wanting to live it not just because they're getting paid for it but because they actually believe it themselves.
