How Important Was Grammar School?
In order to become a barrister, you have to join an inner court. To qualify for the bar final examination, as it was then called, you tend to do this shortly after graduating with a law degree. When i was qualifying, you have eat 36 dinners in your min of court. That is a minimum of three dinners a term, four terms a year, for three years. I can remember going down on the train from cambridge to london and another contemporary saying he had an excellent breakfast on the train. N i can rememerty, I wouldn't dream of buying breakfast on a train any wa tha e, just the beginning. So i'm not really surprised
