The Relationship Between Hegel and Marx
Hegel and Marx's relationship is a little bit more straightforward. For Hegel, the contractual relationship between wills sets off a conflict theory of recognition whose end is the ethical self-realization of society. The idea of abstract labor plays a larger role here than people tend to think. So at the end of this, abstract labor becomes a means to kind of realize oneself in the collective social product.
