The Resting State Is Not Semantic

There are still folks out there that think of the resting state as sort of this somehow. Quiet since state in the brain where there's, you know, the neural spiking goes down to zero or something like this. And obviously, not at all true. If we compare semantic conditions to the resting state, you get a completely different activation pattern than if you compare semantic states to non-semantic tasks. That can explain also why, for instance, even mice. Yeah, you map out default mode network areas and mice that's they still have,. you know, self related experiences of the world. Right.
