Is There a Good Model of Intertextuality?

Aaron Heim: I think one of the things that I appreciate about Richard Hayes's work is that he's really trying to enter the symbolic universe of the text when he's doing intertextuality. We have to ask the question, how does the author see this fitting within the larger picture and or the larger picture of the precursor text? And so I just want people to kind of stick with the stick with the text a little bit longer when they're doing inter Textual Studies.
