Blancheau is very much an author-centered writer. He thinks of all of the things that are going through the author's mind. The way in which writers keep diaries, for example, really interests him because he thinks a writer needs to be linked to the everyday world. And so you mentioned about how you couldn't have this introductory guide. It seems to me that Blancheau was writing thinking, no, no, I can't write it like that because I don't want the reader to get caught.
