The Rise and Fall of Joshua

Joshua owned businesses at the three corners of San Somme and Jackson Streets. It has been claimed that within three years, also by 1853, he turned his initial $40,000 into a quarter of a million dollars - which would be worth $9 million today. But as we mentioned in the introduction, Joshua's life was rollercoaster ride, and we're now at the top of a lift hill on that rollercoaster, so Joshua is about to suffer a huge drop.
