Introduction
The ottoman empire's success depended on its military success. Feudalism worked fine during the middle ages, but it was totally unsuitable for the industrial age. By the late 18 hundreds, europe and the united states were well ahead of the ottoman Empire in technology, wealth and military strength. As the western world progressed, the ottomans became less significant on the world stage.
