The only witness to the events of that night is a yellow dog who frequently returns to you on a piece for a hide that he has buried near the tracks. The train whistle blows again and the dog barks but you know Chuck can't hear or see either one. You reach for the raw hide in your pocket and toss it into the air. The dog leaps up and sees it, Seizes it and it's teeth. A shot rings out. Investigators at the site try to piece together what happened. It looks like the poor fellow was caught by the cowcatcher on a train and dragged along the track here. But there's been no train on this track for 50 years.
