Chestnut Trees
american chestnut trees were an important food source for both animals and humans. It was a tradition for the elite and dignitaries of the 18 hundreds to bring chestnuts back for holiday celebration. Such a wonderful pastime, until the American chestnut slowly approached its perilous demise. People began importing chestnut trees from other parts of the world. One of these trees was the japanese chestnut tree. Its striking beauty camouflaged something else, dangerous pests and pathagins that crept in with the Japansse chestnut.
