Is Kashmir a Muslim Majority State?
Pakistan has been trying to make this case that Hindus and Muslims in the subcontinent cannot live together. India emerged after 1947 as a secular country with equal rights for all religions. Pakistan, of course, by very definition emerged as a nation which was a homeland for South Asian Muslims. But I think the idea that Kashmir represents that it was a Muslim majority state that India, in the Pakistani narrative, India controls is something that Pakistan feels is imperative for Pakistan to extract from India.
