Do I Really Need to Replicate the Production Settings for Kafka?
Test containers works with any Docker compatible API provider. It can be a rancher desktop, which starts the same Moby underlying project behind Docker. You don't need to replicate all the settings, especially back like how back-happings done or file system operations are working. But what's important is that your application is connecting to a few Kafka instances at once and still working correctly.
