An annuity is a stream of cash flows from a third party, which are inflation linked. They last until you die and can be passed on in your will. Annuities became very unpopular after pension reforms in the UK about 2015. But as guilt yields have surged, the amount of money you can get as an annuity on your pension pot has also surged.
